Known to audiences as an actor, Mr. Dasnayak has, over the years, sought to build a political identity around his public engagement and grassroots connect. Born on September 17, 1981, Akash entered the Odia film industry at a time when action-oriented cinema and stories centred on conflict, courage and justice had a strong appeal among audiences. His screen roles, particularly those portraying determined and assertive characters, helped establish him as a familiar face in Ollywood.
His association with the public, however, gradually extended beyond cinema. Interactions with people in different parts of Odisha brought him closer to issues affecting rural communities and younger sections of the population. This engagement eventually found expression in his decision to enter electoral politics.
Akash was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly from the Korei Assembly constituency.
