BJP to launch month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17.
Jajpur, 13/09(PPT): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the country from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service and his birthday, party leaders said on Saturday.
In Jajpur district, the party has drawn up an extensive programme aimed at ensuring wider public participation in the campaign. Details of the initiative and its proposed activities were announced at a press conference held at the MP’s office at Kuakhia on Saturday morning.
Jajpur district BJP president Debayani Pradhan and the MP’s representative and advocate Phanindra Mishra were among those present at the press conference.
According to the district BJP, as many as 13 major public welfare and service-oriented programmes have been planned during the month-long campaign. The party said preparations have already begun across the district to involve people at the block and panchayat levels.
The campaign will begin on September 17 with a mega blood donation camp, followed by an evening programme titled ‘Ashirbadara Deepa’, involving the lighting of lamps as a mark of goodwill and public service.
A series of activities aimed at students will also be organised under the theme ‘Mo Swapnara Bharat’ (My Dream India). These will include painting and elocution competitions designed to encourage young people to express their vision of the country.
Another major component of the campaign will be ‘Namo Seva Gatha’, under which street plays will be staged at different locations to highlight themes related to public service and social welfare.
The party has also planned an Anganwadi Utsav to felicitate Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers for their contribution to community-level healthcare, nutrition and social welfare.
Under the proposed ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’, awareness programmes on various government welfare schemes will be organised at the block level. The objective, party leaders said, is to improve awareness among beneficiaries and help people connect with government welfare initiatives.
Other programmes listed as part of the campaign include ‘Viksit Bharat 2047 Sankalp’ and ‘Jana Sevak Mahakumbh’. A ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ is also planned across the district to connect people from different blocks and panchayats with the campaign.
The district BJP said extensive organisational preparations were under way to ensure that the month-long initiative reaches people at the grassroots level.
Party leaders said the campaign would focus on public participation, social service and awareness of welfare initiatives while highlighting the BJP’s emphasis on its broader vision of a developed India by 2047.
