JAJPUR,03/09(PPT):BJD has submitted a memorandum to the Jajpur Collector in this regard. The party has threatened to intensify their protests across the State if things don’t improve soon.Opposition BJD workers gheraoed the Dharmasala block office in Jajpur district on Tuesday alleging arbitrary work and hooliganism on the premises.BJD further alleged that common people are getting afraid to enter the block premises due to the prevailing atmosphere.The party has submitted a memorandum to the Jajpur Collector in this regard.BJD has threatened to intensify their protests across the State if things don’t improve soon.The way public representatives are treated on the premises of the block office is quite unfortunate. Sarpanchs, Nominees, and Zilla Parishad members are thrashed and humiliated inside the block.A government official should not behave with public representatives like this. We have staged the protest demanding stern action against the BDO,” said BJD leader Pranab Balabantaray.In response, Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sahoo said, “Hooliganism is BJD’s work. They are trying to hide their irregularities by resorting to unnecessary protests.”However, Dharmasala Block Development Officer (BDO) refused to comment on the matter.
