Pulin Puhan: BJP’s Grassroots Soldier Taking Government Schemes to Odisha’s Villages.

Bhubaneswar,03/09(PPT): Former BJP Kisan Morcha Vice-President Pulin Puhan has emerged as an active grassroots worker, regularly visiting villages across Odisha to interact with people and inform them about various welfare schemes and initiatives of the BJP-led “double-engine” government.

Puhan said the BJP government in Odisha was increasingly being seen as a “people’s government” because of its efforts to strengthen the connection between the administration and the public.

“Our government has made significant progress and fulfilled several major promises made to the people in a short span of time,” Puhan said. He added that assuming office had brought with it the responsibility of fulfilling the aspirations of Odisha’s 4.5 crore people, who voted for the BJP with high expectations.

“We knew that our performance would be compared with that of the previous government and that our Cabinet would be viewed as inexperienced. Despite these challenges and the limited time available, we have worked tirelessly to deliver on our commitments,” he said.

Puhan also highlighted the government’s public grievance initiatives, including the Jana Sunani programmes, as an important step towards reducing the gap between the administration and the people.

According to him, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has interacted with around 12,000 people through 11 public grievance-hearing programmes, with several grievances being addressed and resolved on the spot.

Puhan said he plans to visit every Assembly constituency in Odisha during the second year of the BJP government as part of his efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and communicate government initiatives directly to the people.

He said the government’s vision for a prosperous Odisha rests on four key pillars—livelihood, infrastructure, social security and welfare, and Odia identity. These priorities, he added, have been reflected in the BJP government’s first budget.

Emphasising the importance of transparency in governance, Puhan said the government was introducing a Work Pass Book system to provide comprehensive information about infrastructure projects and strengthen accountability and public oversight.

He also appealed to elected representatives to extend their cooperation in achieving the goal of a “Viksit Odisha” and ensuring that government schemes and development initiatives reach people at the grassroots level.
