‘Police Officers Are Like My Family, I Will Stand by Them in Good and Bad Times’: IGP Satyajit Nayak .

Cuttack,08/09(PPT): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Satyajit Nayak, IPS, has described all Superintendents of Police (SPs) and police officers serving under his range as members of his own family, assuring them of his support in both their professional and personal challenges.

“All the SPs and police officers in my range are like my family. Whether they are going through happiness or hardship, I will always stand by them,” Dr Nayak said.

The IGP stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship between the police and the public and ensuring that citizens receive fair and timely justice. He urged police officers to give due importance to people’s grievances and work in close coordination with local communities to address their concerns effectively.

Dr Nayak also emphasised strict adherence to departmental rules and regulations, while underlining the need to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.

He called for intensified efforts to build a drug-free society, with particular focus on preventing drug trafficking and protecting young people from substance abuse. According to the IGP, sustained cooperation between the police and the public is essential to curb the drug trade and keep the younger generation away from addiction.

Dr Nayak’s remarks underline a people-centric approach to policing, with emphasis on officer welfare, public trust, accountability, law enforcement and community participation in maintaining a safe and orderly society.
