JAJPUR,18/09(PPT): Korei MLA and Jajpur District Planning Board chairman Akash Das Nayak marked his birthday on Thursday by undertaking a series of welfare activities, including fruit distribution among patients, a visit to a gaushala and a programme for children with hearing and speech disabilities in Bhubaneswar.
Mr. Das Nayak began the day by distributing fruits among patients at the Jajpur Road Community Health Centre in Byasanagar at around 9 a.m. He later visited a local gaushala and participated in activities related to cow care.
He subsequently visited the School for Deaf and Dumb Children at Palasapalli in Bhubaneswar and interacted with the students. A free eye-screening camp was organised for the students by the UDR Charitable Trust, with medicines also provided to those in need.
Dr. Gargi Suman Tripathy conducted an awareness session for the students on personal safety, explaining the concepts of “good touch” and “bad touch”.
The programme was coordinated by Shubhrjyoti Das Nayak, secretary of the charitable trust. The organisers said the birthday was marked through welfare and community-service activities.
