Cuttck ,19/09(PPT): A peaceful and orderly society depends not only on strong institutions but also on the responsibility and conduct of its citizens. Every citizen must respect the law, follow rules and, above all, respect the dignity, safety and rights of women and children. Laws are meant to protect vulnerable sections of society and ensure that everyone can live without fear, discrimination or violence. Respect for women and children must begin at home, continue in schools and workplaces and become an integral part of public life. Citizens should remain alert to harassment, abuse, exploitation and violence against women and children and report such incidents promptly through appropriate channels. Silence in the face of abuse can allow wrongdoing to continue; responsible citizens must stand up for the safety and dignity of vulnerable people. Civic responsibility also includes obeying traffic rules, protecting public property, maintaining cleanliness, avoiding rumours and using social media responsibly. Citizens must cooperate with the police and other lawful authorities and use established mechanisms to report violations and seek justice. Families and educational institutions have a particularly important role in teaching children respect, empathy, equality and responsible behaviour. During emergencies, citizens should follow official instructions, avoid restricted areas and assist vulnerable persons. Democracy gives people the right to express opinions, question policies and raise grievances through lawful means, but these freedoms must be exercised with respect for the rights and safety of others. Respect for women and children is not merely a legal responsibility; it is a measure of the values of a civilised society. A safer community can be built when citizens respect the law, protect vulnerable people and act with compassion, dignity and collective responsibility.
