Jajpur,23/08(PPT): Barachana MLA Amar Kumar Nayak on Saturday visited several flood-affected villages under Saudia, Charinangal and Manduka gram panchayats in Jajpur district and took stock of the relief and rescue operations being carried out by the district administration.

Nayak visited areas severely affected by flooding in different river systems and interacted with residents to assess the difficulties faced by them following the inundation. He also reviewed the availability of essential relief materials and the measures being taken by the administration to assist affected families.

The MLA assured the flood-hit people that all possible assistance would be extended to them and urged the administration to ensure that relief reaches every affected household without delay.

Interacting with farmers, Nayak said the government would provide appropriate compensation for crop losses caused by the floods. He also assured them that necessary assistance would be extended to enable them to resume agricultural activities during the forthcoming crop seasons.
Nayak also oversaw rescue and relief operations undertaken by the district administration and took feedback from officials on the ground situation. He stressed the need for continued monitoring of vulnerable areas and timely assistance to people who may still be facing difficulties because of the floodwaters.
“I visited several villages under Saudia, Charinangal and Manduka gram panchayats and interacted with the villagers. The district administration, under the direction of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has been paying special attention to Jajpur district and has taken several measures to reach out to the flood-affected people,” Nayak said.

He added that the Chief Minister’s visit to the district had given further impetus to relief and rescue operations.
“The Chief Minister’s visit has really galvanised the flood relief and rescue activities. We will continue to work closely with the administration to ensure that the affected people receive the necessary assistance,” the MLA said.

The flood situation has disrupted normal life in several parts of Jajpur, with large numbers of people affected by inundation in low-lying areas. Besides immediate relief, restoration of damaged infrastructure and rehabilitation of affected farmers are expected to remain key challenges as floodwaters recede.
