Jajpur24/05: Police have filed a case against Bulbul Behera the lady Tehasildar of Sukinda Tehsil in Jajpur district on Monday on the charges of flouting covid norms at the wedding of her brother at village Jagannathpur under Tirtol police station of Jagatsinghpur district.The Sarapanch of Jagannathpur Gram Panchayat , Silarani Khandual filed an FIR in Tirtol police station and alleged that the Tehasildar and others by violating covid norms danced in a marriage function on 21 May night without wearing masks. Acting on the FIR, police booked the Tehsildar on Monday under section- 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) 269( Whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) , 270 (Whoever malignantly does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) and 34(common intention) of the IPC , section-51 of Disaster Management Act and section- 3 of the Epidemic Act. During investigation, police got a video showing she along with others were dancing in a marriage function on 21 May night at village Jagannathpur, said Deepak Ranjan Jena the Sub- Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Tirtol. While at the time of marriage, only 25 persons were allowed, the video footage shows more people. All those who attended the marriage function and violated the norms would also be taken to task.No arrest has yet been made and an investigation is going on, added the police officer.
