Jajpur,12/04(PPT); Six persons have been arrested on Sunday night and raids are still on to nab all the accused responsible for the attack on the police on 27th March at village Mukundapur under Jenapur police station in Jajpur district, said the IIC of Jenapur police station , Ashis Kumar Sahoo.Two police personnel were injured as some miscreants attacked police and damaged a police vehicle when police tried to arrest two youths of the village on the charges of their involvement in creating disturbances in a village Yagnya.All the six arrested accused have been identified as Sangram Kishor Sahoo, (31) , Udaya Narayan Sahoo (38) , Kalia Rout (24) , Somyaranjan Sahoo (30) , Bhimasen Ojha (50) and Basudev Pradhan (18) A case has been registered against the accused for attacking the police under the Sections of IPC – 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons), 149 (every member part of unlawful assembly guilty of offense), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), added the police officer.All the arrested persons were produced in the local court on Monday. The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them in jail custody, added the police officer.
