JAJPUR,07/10(PPT); Tightening its nooses against unauthorised mining and illegal crusher units operating at Dharmasala in Jajpur district, the Steel and Mines department has ordered action against unauthorised mining and illegal crush units in Dharmasala,Jajpur.In a letter to the Director of Miner Mineral and Jajpur collector, Rajesh Prasad Nayak,deputy secretary to the government, has directed to initiate appropriate necessary action against unauthorised and illegal mining and crusher units operating in the region. I am directed to request you to take necessary steps as per rules to redress the complaint Petition and submit compliance/ action taken report thereof to this Department at the earliest,” the letter read. Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo on Monday also wrote to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi requesting him to take necessary action for verification, revaluation, and supervision of stone quarry units leased out in his constituency. Besides, he also demanded necessary action for the collection of the due fines imposed by the department on the defaulted quarry units operating in the region.
Earlier, Sahoo had alleged about massive irregularities in mining operations in his constituency leading to a life-threatening pollution in the region. Sahoo Sai that there have been massive irregularities in mining operations during the previous BJD government. Circle deputy director of mines Jayaprakash Nayak Said Regularaly visited various black stone quarry areas to take stock of mining activities in At Dharamasala In Jajpur District .My main aim is to see whether everything is going all right or not.it was my routine visit said DDM Nayak,He also directed the concerned officialsa to maintain transparency while dealing with mining activities. show cause notice has already been issued to 65 Crusher units operating in Dharmasala Tahasil for illegal dumping of minor minerals inside their premises. In addition to this, all the lessees have been directed to appoint Mine Manager and to obtain blasting permission immediately for smooth operation of the quarry added DDM Nayak.
