Police celebrates 65 th Commemoration Day In Jajpur.

JAJPUR,21/10(PPT): The 65TH Police Commemoration Day was observed at the District Police Headquarters at Panikoili In Jajpur District On Monaday.SP Yashpratap Shrimal paid homage to all the Police Martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.He also also conveyed deep condolences to the bereft family members of the martyred jawans. He Said India marks Police Commemoration Day on October 21 every year to remember the policemen who died in an ambush by Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh, in 1959. The day is dedicated to paying tribute to the bravery and service of police personnel who protect the nation. On October 21, 1959, during heightened tensions at the India-China border, a group of Indian policemen on a reconnaissance mission at Hot Springs in Aksai Chin were ambushed by Chinese forces.Ten officers were fired upon without provocation.The attack led to the deaths of several policemen, and their bodies were returned 23 days later, on November 13, 1959, where they were cremated with full military honors. In January 1960, the Annual Conference of Inspectors General of Police decided that October 21 would be observed as Police Commemoration Day. This day serves as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by police officers to safeguard the country.He Said Police Commemoration Day goes beyond remembering the fallen officers of 1959. It highlights the daily risks police personnel face while maintaining law and order. The day acknowledges their contributions to society and honors those who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty, whether domestically or internationally.Added Sp Yashpratap.
