Jajpur,02/02(PPT): As part of preparations for the visit of President Droupadi Murmu, the district administration has declared a holiday for 48 government and private schools within the Jajpur municipal limits on Tuesday. The decision was taken by the District Collector in view of security and logistical arrangements. President Murmu is scheduled to visit Jajpur on Tuesday, prompting heightened activity across the town. The district administration, police, and temple authorities are working round the clock to ensure smooth arrangements. Several areas of the town have been cleaned, while pending development works are being completed on a fast-track basis. The road stretch from NC College Square to Medical Square has been cleaned, while the road from Medical Square to Biraja Temple has been fully resurfaced and marked. The President will arrive by air and land at the administrative ground near Kusuma, which has been completely asphalted. Barricades have been erected around the ground, and three temporary helipads have been constructed. During her visit, the President will offer prayers at the Biraja Temple, the presiding deity of Jajpur, and later perform pind daan rituals at Navagaya. The temple premises have undergone extensive cleaning, repainting, and illumination. The interior and exterior of the temple, including its stone boundary walls, have been washed and polished. For security reasons, devotees will not be allowed inside the temple from the President’s arrival until her departure. Only 8 to 10 selected servitors will be present to conduct the worship and ritual proceedings. The list of servitors has already been finalized. According to Jajpur SP Yashapratap Shrimal, around 20 platoons of police force have been deployed across the city for security. District Collector Amber kar Said Warm welcome Her Excellency. The overwhelming welcome highlights the pride of the local community in receiving the President, with preparations meant to make her visit to the ancient temple city memorable.
