Bhubaneswar/Jajpur; In a significant administrative reshuffle, senior IAS officer Saswat Mishra has been appointed as the new Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The appointment was made official through a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department. Mishra, who is widely recognized for his administrative acumen and deep understanding of financial matters, will continue to hold his existing crucial responsibilities as the Principal Secretary, Finance Department, and also Chairman, Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO). This dual responsibility highlights the government’s confidence in his capabilities and his pivotal role in steering the State’s financial health and industrial growth. Mishra is a seasoned bureaucrat from the 1996 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). His career has seen him hold several key positions within the Odisha government. Most notably, his tenure as Principal Secretary, Finance Department, has been instrumental in shaping the State’s fiscal policies and managing its economic affairs. His leadership at IDCO has also been crucial in promoting industrial infrastructure and attracting investments to the State. The post of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister had been lying vacant for quite some time, ever since NB Dhal transitioned to a new role in New Delhi.
