Jajpur24/06(PPT):Some miscreants, backed by a political party, have allegedly threatened former minister Priti Ranjan Ghadai following an scuffle with workers at the Sukinda mining workers association office.
The goons entered the trade union office in the Sukinda mining area and vandalised it with various weapons and chanted Tutu Bala Zindabad, Vicky Babu Zindabad, Babi Beuria Zindabad. The youth who vandalised were carrying guns, swords and various weapons in their hands.
The attackers threw some bombs, but fortunately they did not explode. It is alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to attack the workers’ union office in the mining area on Tuesday when Ghadai was holding a meeting. However, the meeting was postponed at the last minute.
The mining workers alleged that BJP supporters on Monday vandalised the office of the Sukinda Region Mining Workers’ Union. According to a written complaint filed by the union’s General Secretary Bharat Chandra Mahamat at Kaliapani police station, at 1 pm, Shiv Patra, Vidyadhar Patra, Ashok Pradhan, Lashmidhar Munda and 6/7 other youths carrying guns and various deadly weapons, chanted Tutu Bala Zindabad, Vicky Babu Zindabad, Babi Behura Zindabad and carried out extensive vandalism.
At this time, the attackers threatened that they would harm one Bharat Mahanta, kill his family, and no one can do anything to them. Along with this, the attackers also allegedly looted Rs 1.5 lakh from the office, Bharat Mahanta said. Condemning such incidents, Ghadai has blamed the BJP government for the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the accused persons besides the transfer of Jajpur SP for allegedly shielding the BJP workers, who are involved in vandalism and death threats.
