BHUBANESWAR,11/10(PPT): Odisha Congress leaders, led by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das, will participate in the INDIA bloc’s protest march in New Delhi on Monday against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of “vote chori”, a senior party leader said on Sunday.
Congress leader Saluja told the media that party MLAs and senior functionaries would leave for the national capital on Sunday night and reach Delhi by Monday morning to join the demonstration.
According to Saluja, the protest is being organised under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi to highlight alleged irregularities in the electoral process and demand accountability in the conduct of elections.
The Odisha Congress delegation will take part in the demonstration under the guidance of Bhakta Charan Das, along with party MLAs and senior leaders. Representatives of various INDIA bloc constituents are also expected to join the protest scheduled for October 12.
The opposition has been raising concerns over alleged electoral irregularities under the slogan “vote chori”, seeking answers on the functioning of the electoral system. The allegations remain contested political claims.
