Cm Majhi, Agarwal discuss Vedanta’s proposed Odisha investment .

BHUBANESWAR,26/09(PPT ): Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal on Friday and discussed the progress of the company’s proposed ₹1 lakh crore investment in Odisha. The plans include a 3-million-tonne-per-annum aluminium smelter in Dhenkanal and a 6-million-tonne alumina refinery in Rayagada, besides a proposed 1-million-tonne expansion of the Jharsuguda smelter. Mr. Majhi said the State Government would extend all possible support to investments that create jobs and promote local development. Mr. Agarwal said the projects could generate more than two lakh direct and indirect jobs and announced plans for a 1,000-bed hospital in western Odisha. The proposed investments are expected to strengthen Odisha’s aluminium and downstream manufacturing ecosystem.
