Vigilance Searches Six Properties Linked to Baragada PEO

Baragada,22/09(PPT): Odisha Vigilance on Monday conducted simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Kartikeswar Behera, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Katabhal Gram Panchayat in Baragada district, in connection with an alleged disproportionate assets case.

The searches covered Behera’s double-storeyed residential building, a commercial complex, a godown, an under-construction four-storeyed building, his ancestral house and his office chamber. The operation was carried out under search warrants issued by a competent court.

A team comprising five Deputy Superintendents of Police, eight Inspectors, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors and other Vigilance personnel took part in the searches.

Officials examined property-related documents, bank account details, vehicle records and other financial papers belonging to Behera and his family members. The Vigilance authorities said the total value and nature of the assets would be assessed after completion of the verification process.
