Will Always Stand as a Shield for My Sisters in Sukinda’: Former Minister Priti Ranjan Gharai .

JAJPUR27/08(PPT): Former Odisha minister Priti Ranjan Gharai on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan vowed to stand by the women of Sukinda and continue to fight for their rights throughout his life.

A Raksha Bandhan celebration was organised at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) office in Danagadi, Jajpur district, where hundreds of women from different parts of the Sukinda Assembly constituency tied rakhis on Gharai’s wrist as a symbol of affection, respect and the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.

Addressing the gathering, Gharai said the affection shown by the women had bound him in a sacred and priceless relationship of brotherhood. He expressed hope that the bond would remain everlasting and that every sister would always have a smile on her face.

“Sukinda is my family. As long as I live, I will continue to fight relentlessly for your rights,” Gharai said.

He said the large participation of women in the Raksha Bandhan celebration demonstrated their affection and trust in him. “Today, you have shown your love for me. I pledge that as long as there is a drop of blood in my body, I will stand as a protective shield for the sisters of Sukinda,” he said.

Gharai also extended his greetings to people on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and described the festival as a celebration of the timeless bond of love, trust and affection between brothers and sisters.
