Jajpur,21/08(PPT):In the Jajpur’s Dharamsala block area, the Brahmani and its branch Kelua rivers flooded, causing widespread damage and submerging agricultural land hectares. In the Dharamshala area, while people were still struggling with the first flood, a second flood came in the river and a large area has been submerged again. Even though no place in the Dharmashala block area was directly hit in the first and second floods, floodwaters entered roads, villages, and farmland, causing widespread damage. During the first flood, MLA Himanshu Shekhar Sahu visited the flood-affected areas and, along with district and block administration officials, personally inspected the damaged regions. Along with this, MLA Sahu also met the flood victims and gave his commitment to provide them with assistance. Last Tuesday, the Chief Minister visited Jajpur, toured the flood-affected areas, reviewed the situation, and announced assistance of 1,000 crore for the flood-affected Jajpur district. MLA Sahu has visited the flood-affected people in Panchayats like Kadampal, Kotpur, Patpur, and Areikona, and has inquired to understand their situation. Along with this, the government has promised to provide assistance to everyone affected by the flood. In this connection, it was understood by asking that dry and cooked food was distributed to the flood-affected people on behalf of the Anshuman Memorial Trust, which was operated under the supervision of the MLA. People generally appreciated the MLA, MLA Sahu, for visiting the flood-affected areas twice and sharing in the suffering of the victims. Among Others BJP Mandal president of Kotapur zone, Prashant Nayak, in-charge Alok Lenka, youth organizer Rajesh Kumar Pal, Abhishek Raut, Bishwajit Prusti, Pradeep Parida,Abhisek Rout and others were prominently present.
