Jajpur,22/02; The body of Sasank Sekhar Samal ( 32) of Kshetrapala village in Jajpur, a jawan of Indian Army killed in a landslide in Ladakh on 18th February, was cremated with full military honour at his village on Saturday night.The body of the jawan was received ceremoniously with patriotic fervour. Casket of the martyr, draped in Tricolour, was given floral tributes by senior police personnel, administrative officers and local politicians followed by a Guard of Honour by the men in uniform. Later, with patriotic songs reverberating, the body was taken to the village of the Jawan.A large number of villagers, Army men, state Police officers, officials and leaders of the area gathered to pay their last respects to the valiant soldier. A contingent of the Police reversed arms and fired a volley of shots in the air to bid farewell to the departed Jawan. Earlier, the body of the martyr was taken to his home, where heart-rending scenes were witnessed as family members and people from surrounding areas mourned the death of the young soldier.Dharmasala Pranab Balabantray, Maheswar Bal and others mourned the death of Jawan.
