Police could not find remains of the missing girl child after draining the pond

Jajpur,15/02: Police drained a pond on Monday in Jajpur district to search the remains of a three year old girl who has been missing for more than six months but didn’t find any evidence in the pond or surrounding area of the missing child.
Subhalaxmi Nayak (3) the daughter of Laxman Nayak and Monalisa Nayak was last seen on 9th August 2020 at village Madhusudanpur under Binjharapur police station. The parents of the missing girl on 10th August last year filed an FIR in Binjharapur police station But the police are yet to locate the girl. The parents and other relatives of the missing girl sat on dharna in front of the house of Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti Minister Tukuni Sahu in Bhubaneswar recently for which the police formed a special squad to investigate the case .“We announced a cash reward of Rs 20,000 to provide information about the missing girl and pasted the posters at various locations . We could not find any clue about the missing girl even after pumping out water and clearing hyacinths from the village pond, said Niranjan Barik, the Additional Superintendent of Police, Jajpur.
