BHUBANESWAR,09/10(PPT):The Odisha Fire and Emergency Services Department has audited 3,624 commercial, government and private establishments in 24 days under the ‘Surakhita Odisha, Viksit Odisha’ campaign to strengthen fire safety compliance and emergency preparedness.
Launched on September 15, the drive focuses on fire safety certificate validity and the functioning of safety equipment. Director General Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi said compliance notices were being issued to establishments with invalid certificates or non-functional equipment. The campaign is being supervised by IG Dr Umashankar Dash, with fire officers conducting inspections across the State.
Sarangi also highlighted the six-month specialised training undergone by Assistant Fire Officers and senior personnel at the National Fire Service College in Nagpur to improve fire prevention and emergency response.
