JAJPUR07/09(PPT): Senior BJP leader Gautam Ray has stepped up relief and support efforts for flood-affected families in several panchayats of Dasarathpur block in Jajpur district, as people continue to face hardship following flooding in the Baitarani and Kani rivers.
Known for his approachable demeanour and cordial interaction with people, Ray visited flood-hit areas and met affected families to assess their difficulties. He also coordinated with party workers to facilitate the preparation and distribution of relief materials, including food and other essential supplies.
The relief activities have been continuing in the affected areas, with party workers assisting in reaching essential commodities to families in need.
“Standing with people during difficult times and extending service and support is our responsibility. I sincerely thank all the workers who have come forward with dedication and sensitivity to assist the affected people. Service is our commitment and the people remain our priority,” Ray said.
Ray also visited areas where breaches in embankments had occurred and reviewed the progress of repair and restoration work. He interacted with the administration and concerned departmental officials and stressed the need to complete the repair work at the earliest while ensuring that the restored embankments are strong and durable.
He also held discussions with the Chief Engineer regarding the ongoing restoration work and called for expediting measures to prevent further distress to residents in vulnerable areas.
“The safety of people in the flood-affected areas and resolution of their problems remain our highest priority. The administration is fully alert and all necessary measures are being taken,” Ray said.
His continued presence in the flood-affected areas and efforts to mobilise relief assistance have drawn attention to the importance of community support and coordinated response during a natural disaster.
