Jajpur,03/09(PPT): A review meeting on the flood situation in the district was held under the chairmanship of Korei MLA and Chairman of the District Planning Committee, Akash Dasnayak, in the presence of District Collector Ambar Kumar Kar. The meeting reviewed the various measures undertaken by the district administration for relief, rescue and restoration operations in the flood-affected areas.
The meeting took a detailed stock of the distribution of relief materials and cattle feed, disinfection of drinking water sources, healthcare services, restoration of electricity supply, repair of damaged roads and embankments, and the progress of damage assessment.
Emphasising the need for swift action, MLA Akash Dasnayak directed the concerned authorities to complete the assessment of flood-related damages at the earliest and accelerate restoration and rehabilitation works. He also stressed the importance of taking preventive measures against water-borne diseases in the post-flood period and intensifying public awareness campaigns to protect the health and safety of affected communities.
The review meeting was held at the District Collector’s Conference Hall. District Collector Ambar Kumar Kar, Additional Collector, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, Sub-Collectors and senior officials from various departments attended the meeting.
The administration also reviewed the ground-level situation and emphasised coordinated efforts among different departments to ensure timely relief, restoration of essential services and rehabilitation of flood-affected people.
