Bhubaneswar /Jajpur,26/09(PPT ): Former Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das, popularly known as Bobby Das, visited flood-affected areas of Dasarathpur block on Saturday and met families hit by the latest round of flooding.
Mr. Das visited the affected areas early in the morning, interacted with residents and took stock of their immediate needs. His visit comes at a time when Dasarathpur is facing another spell of flooding following a fresh breach in the Kani river, a tributary of the Baitarani. Reports said the breach occurred at a previously affected stretch, inundating parts of Tarapada and Kasapa panchayats.
The region has faced repeated flooding this monsoon, leaving several villages vulnerable to inundation and disrupting normal life. The Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, had visited flood-affected areas of Kasapa and Tarapada panchayats on August 17 and interacted with residents of Ramchandrapur, Balda and Dovabil villages.
With another flood affecting the area, Mr. Das sought to assess the difficulties being faced by residents and facilitate immediate assistance for affected families. His supporters said he has been maintaining contact with people in the flood-prone areas and responding to their needs during successive spells of flooding.
