Jajpur ,21/09(PPT): Odia film actor and producer Jhilik Bhattacharya has shared a nostalgic reflection on childhood and motherhood, saying an old photograph of herself reminded her of how quickly life changes and how precious ordinary moments become with time.
In a social media post, Bhattacharya said she came across the old photograph unexpectedly and felt as though it had taken her back to a life she had almost forgotten. Looking at her younger self, she wondered what the little girl had been thinking and dreaming about and what she imagined her future would hold.
She reflected on how that child had no idea that she would eventually become a wife and mother of two daughters. Today, seeing her daughters grow up, she said she often finds glimpses of her own childhood in their innocence, curiosity, laughter and sense of wonder.
The photograph, she said, had made her realise how people often live through moments without recognising that they will eventually become cherished memories. She expressed a wish to return to her childhood for just a day, not to change anything but to reassure her younger self about the joys, challenges, heartbreaks, lessons and unexpected experiences that life would bring.
Bhattacharya also reflected on the idea that growing up does not necessarily mean leaving childhood behind. Instead, she suggested, people carry a part of their younger selves within them even as they take on new roles and responsibilities.
“Time moves forward, life changes, children grow,” she wrote, while reflecting on the enduring presence of her childhood self.
Her post struck a reflective note on the passage of time, the changing nature of family life and the value of memories that often become meaningful only after the moment has passed.
