Jajpur,25/09(PPT): The 70th State-Level School Group Handball Championship was inaugurated at Mahapurusha Hadidas Mahavidyalaya at Chhatia in Badachana Assembly constituency of Jajpur district on Thursday, with senior public representatives and sports officials emphasising the importance of sports in the overall development of students.
Odisha Minister for Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Sports and Higher Education Suraj Suryavanshi, Jajpur MP Dr Rabindra Narayan Behera, Digapahandi MLA Siddhant Mohapatra and Badachana MLA Amar Kumar Nayak attended the inaugural ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Suryavanshi extended his best wishes to all participating sportspersons and said sporting activities played an important role in building discipline, confidence, physical fitness and leadership qualities among young people. He encouraged the participants to display sporting spirit and make the most of the opportunity to compete at the State level.
