Jajpur MP& Dharmasala MLA celebrates ‘Raja’ with people .

Jajpur; 15/06(PPT):MP Dr Rabindra Behera & MLA Himanshu sekhar Sahoo celebrated ‘Raja’ with people at Areikana Village Under Dharmasala Block In Jajpur District on Sunday. Both Extending his best wishes to the people on the occasion at the State Archives, MP Behera said Raja festival is an important part of ‘Odia Asmita’ and heritage. Speaking about Raja ‘pitha’, ‘pana’ and ‘doli’, it is a festival that brings great happiness to people across all age groups, particularly in villages. He Said Raja (Raja Parba) is a vibrant three-day agrarian festival in Odisha celebrating womanhood and the fertility of Mother Earth. It marks the onset of the monsoon. During this time, agricultural work pauses to let the earth rest. Women and girls enjoy a well-deserved break, feast on traditional Poda Pitha, and play on decorated swings.Drawing a comparison between ‘Poda Pitha’ and cake,MLA Himanshu said that the three-day festival is slowly losing its significance due to the advent of modernity and called upon people to throw the limelight back on this rich part of Odia heritage. he said in the days to come, the state government will take all measures needed to promote Odia culture and tradition. Raja Parba, also known as the Raja Festival, is a vibrant and unique three-day celebration in Odisha that honors womanhood and the fertility of Mother Earth.
