Jajpur : Jajpur police have arrested on Saturday eleven criminals near Dharamsala in the district on the charges of their involvement in many crimes in the district and its nearby areas.
We have arrested Sk Basar Alli ( 22) of Mahanga, Zakir Khan ( 34) of Kendrapada, Bimal Prasad Das(26) of Patkura , Sk Irfan(22) of Brahmabarada , Sk Shoiba Allam (22) of Chandapur and Arfan Khan(32) of Charinagal under sections- 395 (dacoity) , 120 B( Criminal Conspiracy) 201 ( causing disappearance of evidence) of IPC and sections- 25 and 27 of Arms Act. Sk. Riasad (27) of Kendrapada town , Sk. Babu (40) of Dilarapur within Kendrapada town police station, Sanjay Babas Kokate(43) , Amarendra Nath Samant(44) and Kesto Khatua (52) of Cuttack were arrested under section- 412 (receiving of stolen properties) of IPC, said the Superintendent of Police of jajpur , Charan Singh Meena.
One Madhabananda Sahoo of Bandhadiha village under Dharmasala police station on 7th October filed an FIR and alleged that three miscreants looted 800 grams of gold ornaments , 15 kilograms of silver and one Lakh rupees by brandishing revolver and assaulting his son Maheswar Sahoo when he was returning to his house from his jewellery shop on 6th October night. Acting on the FIR police launched an investigation and arrested all the accused persons and recovered the looted articles , added the police officer.
Police have seized two sharp weapons, one country made pistol, silver ornaments weighing 12 kilograms, 76 grams of melted gold, Rs 5,89,100 , four motorcycles and 11 mobile phones from them. On Saturday , they were produced in the local court. The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them in jail custody, added the police officer. (THE END)
